Outdoor Experiences

Part of the Learning for Life experience is Outdoor Activities and Career Interest. We have attempted to compile a list of opportunities for students to explore the community as a resource for our partner schools and teachers. Please feel free to contact them directly for further information.

Camp Facilities

One of the benefits of partnering with Learning for Life is the use of our camp facilities. Schools have brought students to either of our two sites for day field trips, overnight camping trips, service learning opportunities, and just to have fun outside.

Learning for Life is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boy Scouts of America, so although these are Boy Scout camps we can tailor any program to fit you and your students needs.

Our Camps

Tahosa High Adventure Base is located just North of Ward, CO. The property backs up to the Indian Peaks Wilderness area. There is a spring fed lake where students can fish (or ice fish in the winter). It is located at over 9,000 feet elevation.  For more information, please read through the 2013 Challenge, or contact your Learning for Life representive for possible sponsorship opportunities.

Peaceful Valley Scout Ranch is located just South of Elbert, CO. It is located in the black forest, East of I-25. There are 2 lakes and a wide variety of different opportunities for your students. For more information, please contact your Learning for Life representive for possible sponsorship opportunities.
