Service Opportunities

The Scout Oath includes the phrase “to help other people at all times,” which reminds us to always be of service to others. Begin planning your project by discussing various service ideas with your Scouts. Adult leaders, your chartered organization, and the local government are also good resources for ideas. Projects will be more meaningful and fun if they are well-planned. Below is also a list of possible service opportunities in our local community.

Does your organization have a service project or volunteer opportunity that you would like Scouts to assist with? Send all of the details of the project including date, time, location, and project details along with any flyers in PDF format to Robert Nakagawa to review and post to our Service Opportunities page.

When your unit has completed a service project, please register the project with Good Turn for America to ensure your service hours are recorded for the Journey to Excellence program. Here are some helpful hints for this process:

  1. Your Unit ID is the same number used by your unit when recording Internet Advancement. If you do not know this number, please contact the Council Service Center at 303.455.5522.
  2. The Denver Area Council is council number 061.
  3. Your local unit number must be four (4) digits. If your pack/troop number is only two (2) or three (3) digits, front fill with zeroes i.e. Pack 123 becomes Pack 0123.
