Hope Farms Project

Hope Farms Project offers a job skills training program that allows people with disabilities and traumatic brain injuries to specialize in their area of interest as they prepare for community-based employment. Their therapeutic riding program offers instruction in Western or English riding that allows riders the opportunity to develop a relationship with a horse. Their rescue program allows us to help animals when they are most vulnerable and in need of warmth, shelter, sustenance and friendship.

Aurora Warms the Night

Aurora Warms the Night is a non-profit organization that provides resources for short-term housing and material needs (food, clothing) for Aurora homeless. They are looking for volunteers on an as-needed and long-term basis helping with administrative tasks and assisting the homeless; they also accept donations of non-perishable food, toiletries, and clothing.

Sam Sandos Christmas Basket Program

The Sam Sandos Christmas Program began in 1978 in the kitchen of Sam and Ethel Sandos, as a means to help out a few families who were down on their luck. They worked with the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Presentation Church to provide food baskets to needy families. Designed to “Serve those who would, otherwise, not be served,” the program builds and delivers food baskets complete with a turkey and all of the trimmings for a holiday meal. This is done on the Saturday before Christmas.

Bessie's Hope enhances the quality of life for nursing home and assisted living elders and brings generations together in mutually rewarding relationships by honoring the human spirit and creating life-enriching volunteer opportunities for youth, families, individuals, community organizations and businesses.The work of Bessie’s Hope transforms the lives of the too-often forgotten elders, the misdirected “at-risk” youth and all who participate in the volunteer programs. Because of the training, activities, and structure provided by Bessie’s hope, a fertile space is created for relationships to be cultivated across generations.
