For your older Scouts, Varsity Scouts and Venturers, the Tahosa Alpine Adventure Trek is a true backcounty mountaineering adventure. Backpack thirty to fifty miles in the Indian Peaks Wilderness with a trained guide while learning all about mountaineering skills and practices. Glissade down snow fields in July. More excitement can include rock climbing in a true backcountry environment, learning about weather patterns and ecology of the area, summit peaks of over 13,000 feet in elevation and experience the backcountry adventure of a lifetime.
The Alpine Adventure Trek program of the Denver Area Council, Boy Scouts of America is an equal opportunity service provider and a permittee of the Roosevelt National Forest. The program is designed for Scouts, Explorers and Venturers aged 13 and up by January 1st of that respective year.
All troops that pay all of their camping fees by April 1st, each registered youth will receive a FREE t-shirt.
All camp participants, including adults, must have medical exam prior to camp and present a completed BSA Health Form upon arrival at camp. Youth 17 and under must complete the Colorado Addendum. Resident camp is for registered Boy Scouts and Varsity Scouts who are 11-17 years old and their leaders.
