The polar pirate klondike will end by 11AM
Ahoy, Scouts! Get ready for a thrilling, icy adventure at this year’s Polar Pirate Klondike, where swashbuckling penguin pirates meet the frozen wilderness! This weekend will be packed with frosty challenges, treasure hunts, and teamwork in the heart of winter’s harsh beauty.
Hosted by Troop 188, the Polar Pirate Klondike is a unique winter camping and activities weekend where Scouts will face the cold and the unpredictable elements of winter, all while embracing the daring spirit of penguin pirate crews on a frosty voyage. This is no ordinary Klondike — it’s a battle of wits, skill, and resilience, as Scouts embark on quests to compete against one another to uncover hidden treasures and overcome obstacles in a wintry wonderland.
Check-in begins at 6:00PM on Friday, March 7th at Sylvan Lake State Park, followed by camp-set up, dinner, and a cracker barrel Friday evening. On Saturday, Scouts will be competing in winter events in a round robin style, ending with a sled race (bring your own sled, one per patrol!) before we break for dinner. Skits will be performed at campfire on Saturday night and will be scored as part of the competition between Troops.
Sled Race Rules
Troops will be responsible for providing their own meals. Make sure to be prepared with plenty of warm clothing, camping essentials, water, and your medical form (parts A & B required!)
