Coin Collecting Merit Badge

In less than a month, Scouts will be able to earn the Coin Collecting merit badge. This will involve two sessions.

Session 1 – A Google Meet call (code to be sent later) on Thursday, October 3^rd at 6 PM. This call will last approximately 90 minutes and cover requirements 1, 2, 3 and 5. This session will be led by Mr. Dan Roussin (35 years as a Numismatist) and Tammy Schlaver. They will provide extensive details about coin collecting as a hobby and career. 

Session 2 – Attend the Denver Coin Expo on Saturday, October 12^th at the National Western Complex, 4644 Humboldt St, in Denver. There you will show your collections and complete requirements 4, 6 and 7 to earn your merit badge. In addition, you can participate in a scavenger hunt to locate various coin denominations at the expo. Completing the scavenger hunt will qualify you for a prize drawing (you do not have to be present for the drawing).

We are working on allowing Scouts in uniform to enter the expo at a reduced cost or possibly free.
