You must be a member of a Scouts BSA unit (or a member of a Crew or Ship) on April 25, 2025 to participate. NOTE: This is not a Range Sports Event for Cub Scouts.
Join us from Friday - Sunday, April 25 - 27, 2025 for Shootzenfest, Scouting Colorado's premier Range Sports Outing, held at Camp Cris Dobbins at McNeil Scout Ranch at Peaceful Valley.
This will be a fun filled 2 nights of camping and fellowship at McNeil Scout Ranch open to all ages of Scouts BSA members, Venturers, and Sea Scouts. Scouts BSA members will be able to work on their rifle and shotgun merit badge shooting qualifications on Sunday if desired. Please note: this event is not open to Cub Scouts or Webelos. Even though the focus is on the youth participants, adults and instructors can have a little shooting time as available.
This event is limited to 250 participants. Please sign up early as we did reach capacity last year two weeks before the event. Registration will close on April 18, 2025.
COST: Early Bird Youth (11-20) $99 Adult Leaders (21 ) $39
After 4/11/25, registration increases to Youth (11-20) $120 and Adult Leaders (21 ) $60
The cost covers the food, camping fee, range fee, gun usage, targets, clays, etc. and all the ammo that you can shoot.
Important event details:
- All attendees must check in with all required paperwork before entering the range/camping area. This paperwork consists of a printed and signed Range Sports event waiver and a current BSA Health Form parts A & B. All adult leaders (21 ) and young adults (18-20) must also bring printed proof of YPT completion to registration.
- Attendees without the required paperwork will be sent home.
- All Scouts BSA participants 13 years of age or younger must attend with either their unit leadership or a BSA registered parent or guardian registered for this event.
- Any Scout (Scouts BSA, Venturer, or Sea Scout) 14 years of age or older attending without their unit must identify a person ONSITE to be responsible for them during registration.
- You may also just come out for Shootzenfest on Saturday, April 26, 2025 as a day trip at the same cost. However, you MUST arrive before 7:45AM for check-in to be present for the event safety briefing held shortly thereafter. You cannot participate in the event without the briefing.
- All campers must make their own tenting arrangements following all Scouting America YPT guidelines. In Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Sea Scouts, youth and adults tent separately. Adults are 18 years of age and older. Separate accommodations are required for adult males & females (spouses may share tents). This also applies to families, and parents must tent separately from their youth. Separate accommodations are also required for youth males & females. Youth (11-17) sharing a tent must be no more than 2 years apart in age.
- Meals are included all day Saturday and Sunday through lunch. You must take care of your own dinner on Friday night.
- Like National and International Jamborees, ALL adults leaders (21 ) are required to sign up for work duty to help make the event a success. Assignments will not be all day. These duties are available during registration. Please sign up for several options so that the assignments can be made fairly.
- NRA INSRTUCTOR/RSO's and Senior Event Staff will use a separate signup, and your work assignment will be on the range all day Saturday and Sunday morning. If you are not sure if that applies to you, signup here!
