Alpine’s Webelos Weekend has been one of the best opportunities in the Greater Colorado Council to reignite the Scouting Spirit in your Webelos or Arrow of Light scouts. Unfortunately, many Cub Scouts get bored of Cub Scouting and choose not to cross over into Scouts BSA, because they feel that Scouts BSA will be “more of the same.” The last few years have added “nothing is happening anyway” to that story. Alpine District feels it is more important than ever to remind cubs that Outing, with Scouting, is fun.

 

At Webelos Weekend, experienced Scouts BSA youth will guide your Webelos on a journey through the exciting world of Scouting beyond Cubs. 2024 will be themed around the friendly and curious scout, who goes on a wild adventure with some unlikely companions. Your Webelos or AOL scouts get to join them and experience advanced Scouting Skills at eight different stations, including Camping, Cooking, Disability Awareness, First Aid, Knife & Saw, Knots, Nature, and Wilderness Survival. There will be Webelos and AOL advancement opportunities at each station. Your scouts will experience the patrol method, and, most importantly, Youth-Led Scouting. Cubs who attend Webelos Weekends are often fired up and excited about their future in Scouting and are much more likely to cross into Scouts BSA Troops.

 

When? August 2-4, 2024 (Friday through Sunday - Two Camp Nights)

 

Where? Magness Adventure Camp at McNeil Scout Ranch (22798 N Elbert Rd, Elbert, CO 80106 )

 

Who Should Attend? Webelos and AOL Scouts and Adult Partners from any Greater Colorado Council District

 

Cost? $45 per Webelos or AOL Scout, $40 per adult partner (Includes Saturday meals and Sunday breakfast, camp fees, and some really cool SWAG!)
